Tiny Thai Boxers
This program is fun and interactive and is designed with a focus on basic Muay Thai principles and techniques.
Your child will learn to punch, kick, knee and elbow in a safe and fun environment. They will become more agile and flexible as we develop their athletic skills through body weight exercises, martial arts techniques and games.
As they progress through the program, they will gain the following: approaches to anti-bullying, opportunities to help their teammates, improved social skills and a general working knowledge of Muay-Thai and Boxing techniques.
Junior Muay Thai
This is a 1 hour class where participants develop a base in Muay Thai so they will be able to effectively execute and apply basic Muay Thai skills: Kicks, Punches, Knees and Elbows. They will incorporate these techniques in combinations and through situational drills with a partner or within a small group.
They will increase their athletic capabilities, and they will learn to develop the capacity to overcome challenges through consistent work, and a focus driven approach to problem solving which can be applied both in and outside of the club.
Youth Muay Thai
This is a 1 hour class which consists of exercises specific for the sport, traditional Muay Thai techniques, partnered training and “game like” fun sparring. We like to keep sparring time light, as well as make it a fun and positive activity. Our goal during kids’ class is to build confidence rather than anxiety when approached with physical contact.

- Preparation for competition for those who are interested
Athena’s Advanced classes for Kids follow these pillars of Muay Thai training:
Bag drills focus on building power, timing and footwork by building combinations step-by-step and building stamina through the use of varied training intervals and intensities.
Pad work is done with a partner to develop offensive and defensive combinations with Thai pads – this is a lot of fun and one of the more popular aspects of Muay Thai training. Always a fan favourite and a very effective way to learn Muay Thai.
Clinch & Knee drills is when we practice the application of the devastating knee attacks and unique stand-up neck wrestling of Muay Thai.
Technical Drills are controlled and safe partner work practicing offensive and defensive techniques, simulating fight scenarios with drills progressing to one-step and/or single-technique sparring.
You will learn:
Athena offers students the opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills: Fundamental drills for defensive footwork and basic offensive skills including proper form of all eight strikes.
Our group class setting allows students a space to learn both fundamental and advanced skills in an empowering environment.
